Educational Organization Policy

The Centre of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (KE.DI.VI.M/C.CE.LL.) of the University of Western Macedonia has installed, implemented, and is continuously improving a Management System for Educational Organizations, which complies with the requirements of both national authorities and international practices, in which the incoming and outgoing information has been determined.

It is recognized as part of the University of Western Macedonia and accepts the obligation to comply with the University's Internal Quality Assurance System as determined by the national and European legislative framework. It is managed and controlled by the parallel implementation of Quality Management, Anti-Bribery, Environmental Management, and Social Responsibility Systems.

The Policy of the Management System of Educational Organizations of C.C.E.LL. of UOWM aims to define the way in which it continuously accomplishes its objectives, to address the needs of the interested parties and to raise the level of satisfaction of the educational products and services offered while responding to the relevant educational, scientific, and technical developments.

The Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Western Macedonia is committed to deliver reliable educational products and services through an organized environment, which aims to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Management System of Educational Organizations. C.CE.LL. treats all interested parties equally, taking into consideration the fact that they all have high demands that must be met.

  • ISO 21001:2018

    The management system of the Centre of Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Western Macedonia (C.CE.LL.) was recently certified by the international standard ISO 21001:2018 by Swiss approval, an international accredited certification and training body, a fact that directly differentiates C.CE.LL. in the field of education, as ISO 21001 focuses on the interactions between the educational organization, the trainee, and other stakeholders, providing the highest quality of service.

Objectives

In the context of the policy in effect, the Centre of Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Western Macedonia sets out particular key objectives which are reviewed on a regular basis and aim at:

  • Supporting the Organization's mission and vision.
  • Improving the quality of educational products and services offered.
  • Meeting the requirements of interested parties.
  • Commitment to continuously improve the Management System of Educational Organizations.
  • Highlighting the importance of social responsibility.
  • Providing a framework for defining the Organization's objectives.
  • Provision of educational products and services that fully comply with the requirements as determined by the Study Programs of C.CE.LL.
  • Meeting the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders.
  • Attending to the management of intellectual property issues.
  • Promoting the undertaking of social responsibility actions.
  • Strengthening special social groups and diversity.
  • Privacy Protection.
  • Health and safety insurance.

Principles

The Centre of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning follows the following principles in order to implement its policy:

  • All employees have complete knowledge of the Educational Organization Management System, their obligations and rights under the supervision and guidance of the Management and the Educational Organization Management System Manager.
  • The policy is available to employees, is kept up to date as documented information, shared and comprehended by them.
  • The Organization provides all the required resources (equipment, material, training, etc.) to achieve the objectives of the Management System for Educational Organizations.
  • The Organization has set the objectives, which records and analyses them with a view to the continuous improvement of the Management System for Educational Organizations.
  • The Organization has appointed a Management System for Educational Organizations Manager, who reports to the Director of the Organization and has the jurisdiction and organizational independence to ensure that the Centre’s Management System for Educational Organizations operates and complies with the ISO 21001:2018 standard.
  • The Centre's communication with interested parties is characterized by transparency, directness, protection of privacy and diversity.

Quality Control

The Centre of Education and Lifelong Learning of University of Western Macedonia uses the following Quality Control methods:

  • Written documentation (manuals, comprehensive procedures, instructions, etc.) describing every step of the work process.
  • Keeping written documentation that proves the compliance of the operations of the Management System for Educational Organizations with the international standards.
  • Internal and external reviews for the purpose of monitoring the performance implementation.

The Administration Council of C.CE.LL. is in charge of the overall operation of the Management System for Educational Organizations and is dedicated to establishing, reviewing, and upholding the policy in order:

  • To support the Centre’s mission and vision.
  • To be fitting according to the C.CE.LL. 's objectives and structure.
  • To provide a framework for the specification of the objectives of the educational organization.
  • To include a commitment to meet the applicable requirements.
  • To include a commitment for the continuous improvement of the Management System.
  • To take into consideration the relevant educational, scientific, and technical developments.
  • To include a social responsibility commitment
  • To describe and include a commitment to manage intellectual property and deal with plagiarism.
  • To take into consideration the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders.
  • To take corrective and audit measures in cases of non-compliance with this policy.

Non-compliance with this policy creates legal and non-legal consequences.

The Centre’s policy is made public, diffused, and applied to the parties involved, including the Academic Staff, Special Laboratory Teaching Staff, Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP), Administrative Employees, trainers, and other interested parties, so that they all take responsibility for ensuring the quality of the educational organization assigned to them. The trainees are informed about the quality policy during the stage of their application to a programme.

The Centre of Education and Lifelong Learning of University of Western Macedonia communicates its educational organization policy at national and international level events as well as at meetings with professional, research, social, environmental, and cultural bodies.

The Policy Statement is approved by the Administration Council, revised whenever deemed necessary, and posted on the Centre's website in its most up-to-date version.
